Here's the secret:
The moment you land in Lukla, and see the captivating snow-clad Himalayas in the north, your heart leaps in joy.

No matter how much progress you make, if you aren't content deep inside, if your well-being hits bottom low, what will you do with your growth?
Remember, contentment and well-being don't come easy, they come with a balanced way of life.
Not only that, the lush green jungles you pass through the Temperate zone stir a comforting feeling of all-is-well, reconnecting you with your long-lost juicy life.
Also, while hiking through the shadows of the jungle, the Cricket's high-pitched chirring coupled with the bird's chirping make you vibrate high, aligning you with your true self.
It reminds you of nature's presence and consoling backdrop to peacefulness.
You'll see trees of various species on the way- Blue Pine, Rhododendron, Juniper, Bamboo, Birch, and Firs- decorating the forest further like a bride, giving it a vibrant look.
The way these trees stand the test of time and unpredictable weather conditions, you and I should stand the test of overcoming obstacles to grow and bear fruits in life.
Likewise, when you catch the sight of the colourful birds- Himalayan Monal, Great Rosefinch, Red-billed Chough, Spotted Nutcracker- you can't help but wonder upon the creation of nature.
Just like these free-spirited colourful Birds which fly to different parts of the world, let their journey inspire you to dream big and believe in your own limitless potential.
Not to mention the meandering Imja river and the delighting gurgling sound it produces. You'll feel no less than meditative.
Trust me, it just feels wow!
The flow of these rivers is a gentle reminder of the fact- we must go with the flow of life to make the most out of it.
In flow there's discipline, rhythm, and trust in the process.
By the way, have you ever wondered why nature is never at rush yet manages to accomplish everything on time with grace?
The answer?
It moves on the beat of its own drum- flow.
Similarly, rough, wild, and challenging Trails draw the attention of thrill-seekers who believe growth comes to those who take risks. Or, who dares.
The intimidating drop-offs on the way entice all those risk-takers for whom life is a challenge to conquer and a real deal to win.

WHAT MAKES THE EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK DIFFICULT?
Though the concept of difficulty is subjective, we don't know what it means to be difficult for you.
Something that's tough for one may not be for others. Or, vice-versa.
Yet there are a few factors that make the Everest Base Camp quite gruelling, making it one of the most demanding trekking destinations.
Let me break it down for you:
The elevation at which the base camp is situated in itself makes it strenuous.
The trek starts from Lukla- 2,860 m and ends up at the base camp- 5,364m, exactly 2,504m from where you start.
When you've to hike more than 2,504 m from Lukla- which is 2,860 m- you can imagine the complexities involved with it.
You've to hike way up through the rugged terrain, various climatic zones, and changed-external-conditions to make it to the Everest camp.
Your journey is no less than an emotional whirlwind!
Not to mention the scary trails with spine-chilling drop offs that you need to follow to the top.
These inclines are so steep you need to hike anywhere from 5 to 9 hrs everyday between the teahouses.
And that's not a joke! Absolutely not. Because it requires a lot of effort and energy to hike that length of time at such a high altitude.
Likewise, unpredictable weather conditions further make already difficult treks more challenging.
You never know what weather you'll have next.
One moment, you may see a terrible wind. The other moment, you may experience snowfall. The other, rainfall.
And all these add to the intricacies of the trek.
Similarly, you also know the downsides of trekking at such a high altitude where the temperature is freezing low with reduced atmospheric pressure and oxygen level, don't you?
You know, right?
And that's not all:
How your physical and mental preparation is also equally plays a role in how difficult this journey will be for you.
If you've worked out for, at least, 3 to 5 months before the trek, it's not going to be as hard as you've imagined it to be.
But, without thorough preparation, it'll be!
A poor preparation equals tough times on the trails.
How?
When you don't train yourself, your body won't develop the endurance power you need to dash forward on your journey.
The moment you start your adventure, due to lack of sufficient training, your body fails to withstand the pressure the trek exerts upon your body.
Herein, you may experience cramps and intense pains.
But, with the right exercise, things are different.
The strength your body builds up through training makes the same herculean trek seem achievable.
So, these are a few factors that contribute to making the EBC a grueling destination.
HOW CAN YOU PREPARE FOR THE GRUELLING EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK?
Engaging in activities that help you develop your body's core strength is the best way to prepare for the trip.
Yes, you got it right!
There are specific work outs that may help you achieve your goals.
Here's how:
Hitting the gym or working out will help your muscles and bones develop strength which will make your journey less demanding.
These exercises tighten your biceps, triceps, and hamstring muscles in a way your body can take the pressure the adventure exerts upon.
This may prevent you from experiencing cramps and intense pains, making your adventure less demanding and memorable.
Also, cardiovascular exercises are equally helpful. These exercises improve your heart and lungs ability to work properly under stressful situations, giving you an edge while hiking at higher altitude.
Note: I've talked about exercises that you can consider for developing strength in detail in the later section of the post.
Likewise, if there are hills or mountains nearby, you can go hiking there.
Hiking for around 5 to 7 hrs once or twice a week in those hills will prepare your body for the Everest Base Camp Trek in a way you won't have to struggle when you kick off on your journey.
If you don't have hills, you can go jogging because it also has the power to warm up your body.
But remember, while jogging make sure you do it for an extended length of time as it develops sustaining power which proves to be handy during your trek.
Or, you can also find a vacant multi-storeyed building where it's convenient for you to go up and down the stairs.
And let me tell you: It proves to be useful. It'll do the work it's supposed to.
So this way you can prepare yourself physically and mentally for your EBC Trek and make the most out of it.
